Chris Chorn
President
Chris has been the quiet engine behind Starside Custom Builders for years. His everyday presence on site in the homes we build has earned him the respect of all our team members. Chris has proved that Starside, our homeowners, and our employees are his priority. His business acumen and even temperament combined with honesty has made him the trusted leader. Our homeowners appreciate his personal touch as well as his welcoming personality.
Chris is the integral part of the Starside team to ensure our luxury homes are built to the standards that our discerning customers have come to expect. As a CPA, he brings an analytical approach to homebuilding, working closely with experienced trade partners to facilitate the building process in a seamless manner. Chris maintains the Graduate Master Builder (GMB) and Master Certified Green Professional (MCGP) designations with the National Association of Home Builders, staying at the forefront of high-performance building technology. Prior to joining Starside, he built homes for an award-winning national builder, was a senior associate for a Big 4 accounting firm and received his MBA from the prestigious Acton School of Business. He received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University.
Phill Pourchot
Chief Executive Officer
Believing in the vision for Normandy Estates as a vibrant luxury residential community in West Plano, Phill made an important decision to pursue residential home construction and focused on purchasing the vast majority of the land known today as Normandy Estates. As the developer of, and builder within Normandy Estates, Starside is creating extraordinary homes for exceptional living.
Lynn Urban
Vice President of Sales
Lynn is at the forefront of fulfilling the wishes and desires of our clients. His focus is what serves your interests best and it is the foundation of his business philosophy and success. Lynn will guide you through the build-to suit process or walk you through the selection of our beautiful spec homes if you are ready to move now!
Well into his second decade of experience in residential real estate for a custom home builder, Lynn is also licensed as a Real Estate Broker. He has vast entrepreneurial experience owning several small businesses including restaurants and a wine store.

Cindy Warren
Vice President of Operations
Cindy is the hub for all activity at Starside Custom Builders. Her role is vast and encompasses the responsibility for accounting, payroll, insurance, and payment distribution. She is the liaison for our banking relations for our internal functions and home financing. Cindy operates as the business manager as well by cultivating and maintaining relations with our title companies and subcontractors. Cindy’s organizational skills, indomitable work ethic, and business acumen has made her an invaluable part of what is Starside Custom Builders. She has leveraged her two decades of exemplary experience in the insurance industry into making Cindy an extraordinary asset to our company’s structure. She does all of this with a never ending positive attitude and a personal warmth to all she encounters.
Griffin Gurley
Construction Manager
Griffin is an accomplished builder and Starside is proud to have him as part of our team! A graduate in 2014 from Texas A&M University with a major in Business Management, he is well equipped to manage every phase of the construction process. As an accomplished builder for years, Griffin is charged with building spec homes and build-to-suits for our clients. The response from our homeowners is overwhelming in how detailed and responsive Griffin is to their needs and all with a calm demeanor and outgoing personality. He is an impressive communicator which is of the utmost importance to be a successful homebuilder.
On a personal note, Griffin’s passion is or his family that includes his wife and two boys. He is an excellent golfer and also pursues his other interests of hunting and cycling. Griffin is a very well-rounded individual that blends perfectly with his Starside family!
Samantha Ehlert
Construction Manager
All of us at Starside Custom Builders are so proud to have landed Samantha as our Construction Manager! Earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas is an extraordinary achievement. To have this education in the home construction industry is at a level of rarity that few can boast. Samantha also worked for a defense contractor for a decade. Education and experience are the hallmarks for success, and she has them both!
Samantha is a fast study and has absorbed the details of the high-quality expectations of “The Starside Way.” She is a blessing to us and to any of our clients that have her as their construction manager.
The uniqueness of Samantha continues with her genuine outgoing personality and dedication to solving problems in a cheerful manner. Perhaps being a Native Texan, a wife with two daughters that she is so very proud of, with a passion for her own construction projects at home is the foundation for our pride in having her as an integral part of the Starside Custom Builder Team!
Yolanda McLean
Chief Estimator
In her position of Chief Estimator, Yolanda is integral to the success of Starside Custom Builders as she works individually with our clients. She develops the specifications for each custom home based on your vision of your dream home. Yolanda then develops the individualized budget based on these specifications after relentlessly bidding the work to ensure the best possible price for you, our prospective homeowner.
With decades of experience in luxury home building, Yolanda is involved in every spec home that we build as well. Her ideas are well received as she combines her aesthetic talent with her evaluation of the hard costs associated with a project. Having Yolanda as part of “your” team is confidence building. She combines experience, dedication and an unprecedented professional work ethic to fulfill your wishes and desires.
Chris Ratcliff
Construction Manager
Chris brings a wealth of experience to the custom home building arena of Starside Custom Builders. Personally building in excess of 35 high end custom homes in Highland Park and University Park has created a knowledge base that is invaluable in helping our Starside clients create the home of their dreams. A combination of constructing build-to-suit homes as well as spec projects has enhanced his attention to detail, extremely necessary to be an elite custom builder. Working with and meeting the expectations of our homeowners is a critical skill that Chris has cultivated. Since childhood, Chris has been involved in the home construction business. He worked summers with his Grandfather and Uncle in their professions as framers establishing a work ethic that has served him well.
Chris is well educated and completed his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M. He pursued his education even further with an MBA from the University of Dallas. His wife and two daughters keep him busy as he and his family enjoy spending weekends together at their lake house on Cedar Creek.
Pam Roberts
Interior Designer
Pam is responsible for the interior design of homes for Starside Custom Builders. She guides our clients through the complex interior design challenge of building a truly custom home. Pam accompanies clients to various Dallas showrooms to select all interior elements of a custom home. She maintains communication lines between home owners, builder, vendors and subcontractors on all of the interior design selections and their installations. She keeps our clients on course to achieve their vision for the home they are creating.
